    • एक प्रस्तावना एक शब्द है जिसका प्रयोग संज्ञा से पहले या वाक्य के दूसरे शब्दों के साथ अपने संबंध दिखाने के लिए एक सर्वनाम के रूप में किया जाता है।(A Preposition is a word used before a noun or a pronoun to show its relation with the other words of the sentence.)

     

    • कुछ महत्वपूर्ण प्रस्ताव का उपयोग(Use of Some Important Prepositions)
      1. On and Upon
        • ‘On’ का इस्तेमाल बाकी चीजों के लिए किया जाता है जबकि ‘Upon’ मोशन को दर्शाता है। जैसे,(‘On’ is used for the things at rest while ‘upon’ denotes motion. eg,)
          1. The knife is on the table.
          2. The dog jumped upon the bed.
      2. In and Into
        • ‘In’ आराम की स्थिति को दर्शाता है जबकि ‘Into’ गति को दर्शाता है। जैसे,(‘In’ denotes position at rest while ‘Into’ denotes motion. eg,)
          1. I am writing a latter with a pen.
          2. The robber was killed by him with an axe.
      3. With and By
        • ‘With’ का उपयोग समय के बिंदु के लिए किया जाता है और ‘for’ का उपयोग समय और स्थान दोनों के लिए किया जाता है। जैसे,(‘With’ is used for a point of time and ‘for’ is used for both time and place. eg,)

  • The robber was killed by him with an axe.
  • Since and Form
    • ‘Since’ का उपयोग समय के लिए किया जाता है जबकि ‘For’ का उपयोग समय और स्थान दोनों के लिए किया जाता है। जैसे,(‘Since’ is used for time while ‘From’ is used for both time and place. eg,)
      1. I have not him since last week.
      2. They played from 6am to 8am.
      3. We travelled from Meerut to Jaipur.
        • Future tense में ‘Form’ के स्थान पर ‘Form’ का प्रयोग किया जाता है। जैसे,(In Future tense ‘Form’ is used in place of ‘Since’. eg,)
          1. He has not come here since Monday.
          2. He will not come here from Monday.
  • Since and Form
    • ‘Since’ का उपयोग एक बिंदु के लिए किया जाता है और ‘For’ समय की अवधि के लिए उपयोग किया जाता है। जैसे,(‘since’ i s used for a point of time and ‘for’ is used for a period of time. eg,)
      1. She has been sleeping since 5 o’clock.
      2. He has been coming to us for three days.
  • Till and To
    • ‘Till’ का उपयोग समय को इंगित करने के लिए किया जाता है जबकि ‘To’ का उपयोग स्थान को इंगित करने के लिए किया जाता है। जैसे,(‘Till’ is used to indicate time while ‘To’ is used to indicate place. eg, )
      1. I slept till 8 am.
      2. We went to the park.
  • At and In
    • “At” का उपयोग छोटे शहरों और गांवों के लिए किया जाता है जबकि “In” का उपयोग बड़े शहरों और देशों के लिए किया जाता है। जैसे,(“At” is used for small towns and villages while “In” is used for big cities and countries. eg,)
      1. She lives at Kasauli in Mathura.
      2. I live in Delhi.
    • “At” का उपयोग समय के बिंदु के लिए किया जाता है और “In” का उपयोग व्यापक अवधि के लिए किया जाता है। जैसे,(“At” is used for a point of time and “In” is used for a wider period of time. eg,)
      1. They will go at 6 o’clock.
      2. They will go in the evening.
      3. We left at 9 o’clock in the morning.
  • Within and In
    • “In” भविष्य के कुछ समय के करीब पर दर्शाता है और
      “Within” कुछ समय की कमी को दर्शाता है। जैसे,(“In” denotes at the close of some future time and
      “Within” denotes some time short of the close. eg,)
      1. They will return in two days.
      2. She will return within a week.
  • Between and Among
    • ‘Between’ का उपयोग दो व्यक्तियों या चीजों के लिए किया जाता है जबकि ‘Among’ का उपयोग दो से अधिक व्यक्तियों या चीजों के लिए किया जाता है। जैसे,(‘Between’ is used for two persons or things while ‘among’ is used for more than two persons or things. eg,)
      1. Those two girls quarreled between themselves.
      2. I like to spend my evening among my friends.
  • Beside and Besides
    • “इसके अलावा” की ओर से मेरा मतलब है, जबकि “के अलावा” के अलावा इसका मतलब है। जैसे,(“Besides” mean by the side of, while “besides” means in addition to. eg,)
      1. She came and sat beside me.
      2. Beside being fined, she was sentenced to a term of imprisonment.
